The unofficial author story...
I can’t get enough of new ideas. I’m very bad at just accepting things the way they are. First, it seems to me that some things that we most take for granted are the things that most need to be questioned. Second, I’m always sure we can do better.
I love the work I do. Whether it is speaking to large crowds, meeting with small groups of interested (and interesting) people working towards improving career services, supporting individuals who are wondering how to best move forward with their own career ideas, or sitting alone and really thinking hard about things and proposing and creating new ideas and strategies, I love it all.
I approach my own work with the same focus on integrity (including ethics, dignity, and authenticity) that I write about in my new book. My own personal anchors keep me focused on being the best I can be, and helping others to do the same.
Life isn’t all work (!); I also try to spend lots of time with family, some time knitting and scrapbooking (though I am not very good at either), plenty of time outside, and always trying not to take myself too seriously.
